Position Description

Responsible for coordinating, designing and implementing the administrative database management systems. Works with department managers to identify, analyze and prioritize operational needs and requirements. Designs, develops and implements database systems to meet same. Establishes and maintains software development policies and procedures to ensure standardization and integration of database programs. Evaluates and prioritizes requests for system enhancements and provides timetables for completion. Ensures all programming enhancements are completed within established time frames. Interacts with end users to monitor utilization of database programs. Designs, develops and implements program improvements as necessary to maintain maximum utilization. .Acts as a liaison with other computer vendors when required by the department director.
Educational RequirementsBachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent. Masters degree preferred. Four to six years software development experience with database management systems. Extensive experience in conducting problem analysis, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis and system design. Working knowledge of hospital operations preferred.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
• 2+ years experience installing, configuring, monitoring, maintaining, and supporting a variety of Windows applications
• Proficiency with Windows Server OS, IIS, AD, Group Policy, and Microsoft Office applications
• 1-2 years technical support with web-based applications
• Understanding of Virtual Server infrastructure and software
• Demonstrated and proven ability to provide superior client service with a can-do attitude in a demanding, deadline-driven environment Ability to troubleshoot and resolve client issues, and direct more complex issues seamlessly to appropriate parties
• Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with senior business management and peers
• Flexible team player who promotes and fosters a positive work environment
• Self motivated with sound judgment and decision-making abilities
• Ability to travel when requested (possess sufficient credit to meet travel requirements of the job i.e. rental cars, hotel accommodation, meals while on work assignments, etc)
• Maintain a positive rapport with clients
